The Bauddhaloka Foundation marked a significant occasion on Tuesday, 21st October 2025, with the launch of the Bauddhaloka Literary Festival 2025, a celebration dedicated to recognizing Buddhist literary works that had remained unevaluated over the past five years (2020–2024). Held under the theme “The Buddhist Archaeological Heritage of the Northern Province,” the event took place at the Lotus Hall of the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) under the distinguished patronage of Mr. Jagath Sumathipala, Chairman of the Bauddhaloka Foundation.

The festival was honored the presence of eminent Buddhist leaders, including Venerable Dr. Niyangoda Dharmakeerthi Sri Sangarakkitha Vijithasiri Thero, Anunayaka Thero of the Malwatta Chapter; Ven. Wedaruwe Upali Thero, Anunayaka Thero of the Asgiri Chapter; Ven. Professor Pallekande Ratanasara Anunayake Thero; and Ven. Waleboda Gunasiri Anunayaka Thero. The occasion was further graced distinguished dignitaries, including H.E. Maithripala Sirisena, 7th Executive President of Sri Lanka; Hon. Karu Jayasuriya, 20th Speaker of the Parliament of Sri Lanka; Hon. Gamagedara Disanayake, Deputy Minister of Buddhist Religious and Cultural Affairs; and Mr. R.M. Gamini Senarathna, Commissioner General of the Department of Buddhist Affairs, along with a distinguished gathering of invited guests.
