This valuable 87-page book fills an important gap in the field of Sri Lankan history studies. It presents a collection of ancient inscriptions found in the Jaffna and Kilinochchi districts.In recent times, the history of the Jaffna and Vanni regions has been greatly affected various distortions. In such a situation, inscriptional evidence becomes extremely important, as it is one of the most reliable sources for understanding the past. Using these inscriptions, this book presents the history of the Jaffna–Vanni region in a clear and academic way. At the same time, it helps to correct the misunderstandings, myths, and false ideas that currently exist about the history of the Jaffna region, doing so in a factual and logical manner.The book includes and explains fourteen inscriptions from the Jaffna district and four inscriptions from the Vanni region.
